Winfield got themselves on the board against Lamar County on Monday, but Lamar County never followed suit. They blew past the Lamar County Bulldogs 17-0. Considering the Pirates have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Winfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. Lamar County dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Winfield will take on Sumiton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamar County, they will face off against Gordo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gordo will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
