Baseball Game Preview: Hermon Hawks vs. Ellsworth Eagles

Hermon hasn't had much luck against Ellsworth recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Hawks will challenge the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hermon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They didn't even let Old Town on the board, marking the Hawks' second-straight 6-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Ellsworth came out on top against John Bapst Memorial on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 10-0 win.

The team relied heavily on Dawson Curtis, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Haskell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Ellsworth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Hermon's record now sits at 14-6. As for Ellsworth, their record is now 16-1.
