Mesa Vista is 8-2 against Mora since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mesa Vista Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes at 3:00 p.m. Mesa Vista will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Mesa Vista didn't have too much trouble with Penasco as they won 71-55. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Panthers are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mora, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They skirted past Escalante 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rangers/Rangerettes have posted since December 29, 2023.

Mesa Vista's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points over those games. As for Mora, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Mesa Vista skirted past Mora 51-48 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Does Mesa Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mora turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
