Baseball Game Preview: Huron Tigers vs. St. Paul Flyers

The Huron Tigers will head out to take on the St. Paul Flyers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Huron is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Clyde hit Huron with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 11-4 to the Fliers.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between St. Paul and Crestview, and Crestview kept the tradition alive. The Flyers came up short against the Cougars on Thursday, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Flyers have suffered since May 14, 2024.

Jacob Zuccaro was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Gabe Snyder also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Paul's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Huron, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Huron beat St. Paul 8-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
