Softball Recap: Berea Comes Up Short

After flying high against Carolina Academy last Wednesday, Berea came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Travelers Rest Devildogs by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Devildogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Berea's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Travelers Rest, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berea will head out to take on Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Travelers Rest, they will venture away from home to challenge Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Devildogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Flame have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
