Baseball Recap: Zeeland East Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

On Thursday Zeeland East's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Thornapple Kellogg Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Thursday.

Jailen Nesbit looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Zeeland East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Another was Cam Jaworowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Thornapple Kellogg, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
