Recap: Cincinnati Christian Cougars vs. Northwest Knights
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Cincinnati Christian Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They secured a 56-51 W over Northwest. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but Cincinnati Christian was the better team in the second half.
Cincinnati Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylin Davis out in front who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Serena Cyprien, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Cincinnati Christian pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Northwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cincinnati Christian will square off against Seven Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seven Hills will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cincinnati Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to challenge Aiken at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.
