Basketball Recap: Western Reserve Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Western Reserve won the last time they faced Lowellville and things went their way on Friday too. The Western Reserve Blue Devils managed a 49-43 win over the Lowellville Rockets. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Rockets are ranked 524th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western Reserve's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lowellville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Western Reserve will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against McKinley at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Lowellville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-6 win against David Anderson on the 30th.
