Baseball Recap: St. Paul Central Wins Going Away Against Johnson

St. Paul Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Johnson Governors as they made off with an 11-4 win. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Governors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Billy Vander Aarde made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Entenman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Sam Henrickson was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI.

The win got St. Paul Central back to even at 1-1. As for Johnson, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

St. Paul Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Governors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
