Basketball Recap: Combine Academy Global Comes Up Short

Combine Academy Global lost against Quality Education Academy back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Combine Academy Global Goats fell 65-52 to the Quality Education Academy Fighting Pharaohs. While losing is never fun, the Goats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Fighting Pharaohs are ranked 74th).

Despite the loss, Combine Academy Global saw an underclassman step up: sophomore John Stokes III dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Stokes III is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sterling Bohn, who posted five points and nine boards.

Combine Academy Global has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. The win made it two in a row for Quality Education Academy and bumps their season record up to 20-12.

Combine Academy Global does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Quality Education Academy has already played their next match (against Winston Salem Christian Silver), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
