Galesburg-Augusta had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Kellogg Panthers with a sharp 10-2 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Alex Krugh and Ashton Matrau made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Krugh didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Matrau struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Krugh has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Krugh went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Matrau got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Gibson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and two runs. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jaden Fawcett was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Galesburg-Augusta's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kellogg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
