The Sterling Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Arvada Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Sterling is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Sterling needed a bit of extra time to put away Eaton. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Reds 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted against the Reds since March 26, 2019.

Dayten DiOrio and Ethan Felzien were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, DiOrio tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Felzien pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. DiOrio has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, DiOrio scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances, while Felzien went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Memphis Dempcy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caysen Bamford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Arvada hadn't done well against Fort Lupton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bluedevils, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 10th.

Arvada is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Sterling, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Sterling might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Arvada in their previous matchup back in April of 2015. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
