Game recap: Quitman High School Football Team tops Forrest County Agricultural

QUITMAN, Miss. - Quitman (Miss.) grabbed the lead when it ran for a touchdown with under a minute left in the fifth quarter and held on to upset Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, Miss.) 47-40 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured six lead swaps.

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown, the Aggies went into halftime with a 14-13 lead. The Panthers took the lead for good with a rushing touchdown in the fifth quarter.

Despite scoring zero points in the third, Quitman still trailed by 1 point going into the fourth quarter. But 13 points in the fourth helped QHS pull out the victory.

Franklin Jones stood out for the Panthers in the win. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 30 touchdowns on the season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Forrest County Agricultural, which notched a 42-20 victory over Mendenhall in its previous outing.
