Preview: Northwestern Wildcats vs. High Point Eagles
Northwestern is 10-0 against High Point since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Northwestern Wildcats will be playing at home against the High Point Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Northwestern had to suffer through a rough 58-29 loss at the hands of DuVal. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northwestern in their matchups with DuVal: they've now lost six in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Amelle Passee, who scored ten points. She scored a full 34.5% of Northwestern's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mia Doughty was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, High Point's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Parkdale 63-2. High Point was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-2.
Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for High Point, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Northwestern against High Point when the teams last played back in February as the squad secured a 51-9 victory. Does Northwestern have another victory up their sleeve, or will High Point turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
