Baseball Recap: Ansonia Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Ansonia won against Naugatuck on Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Torrington Raiders 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 back in April.

Ansonia pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Torrington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ansonia will face off against rival Seymour at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 4.1, the Wildcats 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Torrington is set to square off against their familiar foe Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
