Softball Game Preview: Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers vs. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds

Minnesota Valley Lutheran is 9-1 against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Chargers will head out to square off against the Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Minnesota Valley Lutheran and 28 for Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop dating back to last season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Minnesota Valley Lutheran's offense. They came up short against St. James on Friday, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Springfield.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Minnesota Valley Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went Minnesota Valley Lutheran's way against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Minnesota Valley Lutheran made off with an 18-7 win.
