Basketball Recap: BASIS Shavano Victorious

BASIS Shavano hadn't done well against KIPP University Prep recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. BASIS Shavano strolled past KIPP University Prep with points to spare, taking the game 62-47. This was a revenge game for BASIS Shavano: when they faced off against KIPP University Prep back in November of 2024, they had to take a 56-55 defeat.

KIPP University Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Madrid, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Domingo Hernandez, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

BASIS Shavano's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for KIPP University Prep, they moved to 7-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

BASIS Shavano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for KIPP University Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-53 loss against Sunnybrook Christian on the 9th.
