Ruston has gone a perfect 9-0 against Pineville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bearcats will head out to take on the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ruston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Alexandria, who was ranked sixth at the time (Ruston was ranked fourth). The game between the Bearcats and the Trojans didn't end well, with the Bearcats falling 45-28. That makes it the first time this season the Bearcats have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Pineville played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by West Monroe 49-17. Pineville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Pineville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ruston, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Ruston against Pineville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
