Volleyball Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day Torreys vs. Bishop's Knights

The La Jolla Country Day Torreys will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop's Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Jolla Country Day will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

La Jolla Country Day proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Francis Parker 3-2.

La Jolla Country Day wouldn't go down easily and took Francis Parker into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 29-27, 20-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Bishop's unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Cathedral Catholic.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cathedral Catholic scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

La Jolla Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 24-8. As for Bishop's, their loss dropped their record down to 22-7.

Everything went La Jolla Country Day's way against Bishop's when the teams last played two weeks ago, as La Jolla Country Day made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Torreys since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
