Brunswick and Strongsville are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Brunswick's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Strongsville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Brunswick fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Hudson on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Explorers by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Explorers: they've now lost four in a row.

Jackson Briggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Zachary Callahan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Strongsville beat Twinsburg 5-1 on Saturday.

Strongsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
