Soccer Game Preview: North Allegheny vs. Central Catholic

North Allegheny is a perfect 6-0 against Central Catholic since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. North Allegheny's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, North Allegheny came up short against Fox Chapel and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, North Allegheny can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Fox Chapel are ranked third).

North Allegheny's goal came courtesy of Connor Heliger, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic entered their tilt with Penn Hills on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Indians a 4-0 shutout. Central Catholic might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by three goals or more this season.

Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 10-3-2. As for North Allegheny, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5-2.

North Allegheny beat Central Catholic by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
