The Talawanda Brave will take on the New Richmond Lions in a tournament on Thursday. Talawanda is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Talawanda's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Northwest with a sharp 14-0 win. The Brave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Kaylee Griffin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Gracie Seibert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Molly Schuster, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Talawanda is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Talawanda hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like New Richmond struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
