Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Severance Silver Knights

For the second straight game, Mountain View will face off against Severance. The Mountain Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Silver Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mountain View has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Severance will arrive with three straight wins.

Mountain View managed to slip by Severance the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mountain Lions lost 7-1 to the Silver Knights on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mountain Lions have suffered since March 28th.

For Severance's part, Brady Iversen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Iversen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kolton Beidleman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Severance kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Severance pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
