Football Recap: Alden Bulldogs vs. Barker/Royalton-Hartland Bulls

If Alden was feeling good fresh off their 49-6 takedown of Cleveland Hill last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs took a 40-21 bruising from the Barker/Royalton-Hartland Bulls on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

It was another big night for Joe Reiter, who rushed for 161 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries for Barker/Royalton-Hartland. Reiter really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tysen McCaa, who rushed for 54 yards on only six carries.

Alden's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Barker/Royalton-Hartland, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Alden is set to square off against their familiar foe Eden/North Collins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Barker/Royalton-Hartland will face off against rival Western New York Maritime Charter/Tapestry at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Reiter and Jayvon Funderburk.
