Softball Recap: Barstow Falls to University Prep in First Game of Season

Barstow unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 8-2 to the University Prep Jaguars on Wednesday. The Aztecs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Mia-Cali Zamora was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Coming up, Barstow will take on Apple Valley at 3:15 p.m. on February 27th. As for University Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-1 win against Victor Valley on the 20th.
