Softball Recap: Jones Victorious

Jones hadn't done well against Sinton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Jones Trojans walked away with a 5-2 win over the Sinton Pirates. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 12-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Abigail Medellin and Shelby Gutirrez did most of the damage at the plate: Medellin scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Gutirrez scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Medellin has posted since back in April of 2024.

Jones' victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Sinton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Jones will be playing at home against Calhoun at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Sinton, they will head out to face off against Rockport-Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
