Baseball Game Preview: Kingsford Flivvers vs. Indian Trail Hawks

The Kingsford Flivvers will head out to take on the Indian Trail Hawks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Kingsford couldn't beat Waukesha North on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Flivvers took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northstars. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Flivvers' highest-scoring match to date.

Gavin Grondin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Garrett Brown, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Indian Trail had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Red Devils.

Briar Thoe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Talynn Ade was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Cade Minatto was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Kingsford dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Indian Trail, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kingsford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Indian Trail struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
