Basketball Game Preview: Deerfield Spartans vs. Satanta Indians

Deerfield hasn't had much luck against Satanta recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Deerfield Spartans will face off against the Satanta Indians at 8:00 p.m. Deerfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Deerfield had to suffer through a 68-34 loss at the hands of Southwestern Heights. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Trey Hill, who posted six points and six boards. Those six points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cristian Botello, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Satanta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to Ashland on the road by a 55-41 margin.

Satanta's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Deerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Deerfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Satanta in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 64-56. Will Deerfield repeat their success, or does Satanta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
