Baseball Recap: Aurora Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Aurora Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They put the hurt on Thornton with a sharp 14-4 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Aurora Central considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Jorge De Los Santos was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eloy Sifuentes, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Anderson Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Aurora Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped Aurora Central's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. As for Thornton, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
