League recap: South County climbs in state rankings

South County moved up to 41 from 83 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A Conference 7. The Stallions were able to make move up by beating Hayfield 56-21.

South County took down the Hawks 56-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. David Symmes threw for 44 yards and ran for 173 yards during the win.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, T.C. Williams's Darius Holland and Tyrice Henry have proven to be a lethal combination. Gerry Pannoni's team's Robert Avery leads the league in rushing yards with 242.

Lake Braddock and Stone Bridge played the closest game in the league this week, with Lake Braddock eventually emerging with a 31-26 victory.
