Basketball Recap: Garden City Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Garden City challenged Moore on Saturday. The Garden City Cougars took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moore Lions. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 623rd in Michigan, while the Lions are ranked 203rd in Oklahoma).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moore to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macey Foreman, who posted 11 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Jaques, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.

Garden City dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Moore, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garden City will face off against Robichaud at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robichaud will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Garden City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Moore, they will challenge Eisenhower at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
