The Flanagan/Woodland Falcons will look to defend their home field on Friday against the South Beloit Sobos at 7:00 p.m. Flanagan/Woodland will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Flanagan/Woodland faced Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Flanagan/Woodland claimed a resounding 49-6 victory over Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon on the road. The result was nothing new for Flanagan/Woodland, who have now won five games by 35 points or more so far this season.
Flanagan/Woodland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton Quaintance, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Kesler Collins was another key contributor, rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
South Beloit can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Christian Life/Keith Country Day/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy 25-24. The victory was just what South Beloit needed coming off of a 42-6 defeat in their prior match.
Their wins bumped Flanagan/Woodland to 7-2 and South Beloit to 6-3.
