Basketball Recap: Dakota Has No Trouble Against New Standard Academy

On Saturday, the Dakota Cougars made easy work of the New Standard Academy Spartans and carried off a 72-48 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Spartans are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dakota's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for New Standard Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Coming up, Dakota will look to defend their home court on Friday against Grosse Pointe South at 7:00 p.m. As for New Standard Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Flint Southwestern Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
