Recap: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. South Dade Buccaneers
The Coral Gables Cavaliers lost against the South Dade Buccaneers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Coral Gables was outmatched by South Dade at home and fell 41-6. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coral Gables in their matchups with South Dade: they've now lost five in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Demetrius Williams, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Williams was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jean Calixte, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Coral Gables has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for South Dade, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Coral Gables will stay at home for another week and welcome Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd. Southwest has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25. As for South Dade, they will head out on the road to face off against Southridge at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Southridge is ranked 88th, while South Dade is ranked 97th).
