St. John's is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on The Academy of the Holy Cross with a sharp 26-6 win on Tuesday. Considering the Cadets have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Armiger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Cameran Corbett was a standout: she scored five runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Yasmin Burrell was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
St. John's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, Paul VI was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of St. Mary's Ryken by a score of 3-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Natalie Monroe was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Paul VI's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for St. John's, their record now sits at 6-3.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. John's has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Paul VI struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. John's came out on top in a nail-biter against Paul VI in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
