Softball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the John Marshall Monarchs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

DeLaney Gates was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Emma Lang was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for John Marshall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren will face off against Marietta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for John Marshall, they will challenge Wheeling Park at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
