MaxPreps 2017 March Madness All-Name Team

Check out the guys we knew would be March Madness sensations before they hit the college hardwood.

No doubt when "One Shining Moment" is played on April 3, the country might be talking about names like Kansas' Josh Jackson, Duke's Grayson Allen, Kentucky's Malik Monk or UCLA's Lonzo Ball.

But the field of 68 has some impressive names already. MaxPreps looked at the field and came up with the 2017 March Madness All-Name Team. We've got five starters and a sixth man and we take a look at what they've done in college as well as in high school.

G - Dwayne Bacon, Florida State, Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)
Bacon sizzled as a senior at Oak Hill. He was a first team MaxPreps All-American his senior season, leading Oak Hill to a 47-1 record and national No. 2 ranking. He averaged 23.3 points per game and was Virginia's Gatorade Player of the year in his lone year at Oak Hill.

At Florida State, the 6-foot-6 Bacon took home a slew of honors last season as a freshman and is averaging 16.9 points in his sophomore campaign as the West Regional No. 3 Seminoles prepare to take on 14th-seeded Florida Gulf Coast in the opening round.



G – Tavarius Shine, Oklahoma State, Fork Union Military Academy (Va.)
Shine and Midwest No. 10 Oklahoma State might be a long shot for the "One Shining Moment," but the 6-5 sophomore is averaging 6.1 points per game for the Cowboys in 22 minutes per night. He dropped a season-high 14 against Texas in January.

He spent one year at Fork Union and the Blue Devils were ranked as high as No. 6 that season. Shine graduated from MacArthur (Irving, Texas) in 2013, averaging 20 and 10 as a senior, including a 41-point outburst against Grapevine. He also earned first team All-District 6-5A honors in his sophomore and junior years.

G - Seventh Woods, North Carolina, Hammond (Columbia, S.C.)
Woods and the South No. 1 Tar Heels hope their fifth March Madness win means cutting down the nets in Phoenix. Woods, a MaxPreps All-American as a senior at Hammond, is averaging 1.7 points in about eight minutes per night.

The high-flying Woods was an All-American all four years in high school, a two-time Mr. Basketball in South Carolina and led Hammond to a 2015 state title as a junior. The mix-tape sensation averaged 18.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and five assists his senior season for the Skyhawks.

F – Raymond Spalding, Louisville, Trinity (Louisville, Ky.)
Like his name, Spalding can ball. The freshman is averaging 5.8 points for the Midwest No. 2 Cardinals in 17 minutes per game. He had a high this season of 18 points in November against North Florida.

Spalding averaged 13 points, 8.7 boards and 3.1 blocks per night as a senior for the 24-6 Shamrocks. He twice was a first team All-State selection and compiled a 118-21 record during his four-year high school career.



C - Sam Dunkum, Creighton, North Little Rock (Ark.)
As a 7-footer, Dunkum has a name that befits a big man. A December transfer to the Midwest No. 6 seed Creighton, Dunkum came to the Blue Jays from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.

The freshman graduated from North Little Rock in 2015 and missed 2015-16 at Lafayette due to an injury. In high school, he averaged 7.5 points per game his junior year and helped the Charging Wildcats to an AAA state title.

G - Rogers Printup, UC Davis, Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.)
Printup, our sixth man, hopes to get the write up for the UC Davis Aggies winning the Wednesday First Four game against North Carolina Central. The 6-5 sophomore hasn't seen action this season after playing in 22 games his freshman season, averaging 1.7 points per game.

As a senior at Orange Lutheran, Printup averaged 15.5 points and five boards per game for the Lancers. He was first team All-Trinity League and second team All-CIF as a senior.
