Basketball Recap: Glenwood Springs Beats Battle Mountain for Their Second Straight Win

Glenwood Springs won the last time they faced Battle Mountain, and Jamison Godfread did his part to make sure it happened again. The Glenwood Springs Demons enjoyed a cozy 60-42 win over the Battle Mountain Huskies on Thursday thanks to Godfread, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Parrington, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 15 points and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Battle Mountain lost, don't look at Beau Suman. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-12 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Wansley, who posted ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Glenwood Springs and bumps their season record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Battle Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Glenwood Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-66 defeat against Eagle Valley on the 18th. As for Battle Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Olathe on the 15th.
