Basketball Recap: Port St. Joe Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Port St. Joe extended their home winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Zay Jenkins. The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks blew past the Blountstown Tigers 78-56 on Thursday thanks in part to Jenkins, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Port St. Joe's points.

Blountstown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cyion Smith, who went 7 for 12 en route to 14 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Williams, who posted 12 points.

Port St. Joe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.1% in those games and 26% outside of them. As for Blountstown, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
