Basketball Recap: Ridgecroft Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pungo Christian Academy last Thursday, Ridgecroft came back down to earth. The Ridgecroft Rams were dealt a 60-18 loss at the hands of the Lawrence Academy Warriors on Friday. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Ridgecroft had strong showings from Hannah Slaughter, who posted six points and three steals, and Lacey Berryman, who earned seven points.

Claire Smith was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 22 boards for Lawrence Academy. Smith has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Farmer, who scored nine points in addition to eight assists and seven rebounds.

Ridgecroft's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Lawrence Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

As of now, neither Ridgecroft nor Lawrence Academy have any future games scheduled.
