Softball Game Preview: LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers vs. Joliet Central Steelmen

The LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the Joliet Central Steelmen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. LaSalle-Peru's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Joliet Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

LaSalle-Peru is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Serena just ended the team's 22-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Huskers by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They came up short against Plainfield South, falling 19-6.

Haydn Voss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Jordynn Poke also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-27. As for LaSalle-Peru, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-4.
