Basketball Game Preview: Sweet Home Panthers vs. Union-Endicott Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers duke it out with the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sweet Home is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Iroquois on Tuesday. Sweet Home sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 win over Iroquois.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Union-Endicott beat Johnson City 72-68 last Monday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Wildcats are ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Union-Endicott and bumps their season record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points over those games. As for Sweet Home, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-6.
