Softball Recap: Mater Dei Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mater Dei's offense. They came up short against the Orange Lutheran Lancers on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The Monarchs haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Mater Dei's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10-1. As for Orange Lutheran, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Monarchs (ranked 28th) will meet Mission Viejo (ranked 177th) at 3:30 p.m. on the 28th. Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran will face off against South Hills at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (2 vs. 96).
