Basketball Recap: Sam Paske's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chenango Forks over Sidney

Chenango Forks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 66-48 to the Sidney Team, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-48 last Monday.

Chenango Forks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Paske, who posted five points along with six rebounds and three steals. Brady Vaseleck was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Chenango Forks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Chenango Forks' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Sidney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Chenango Forks has already played their next match, a 46-40 victory against Oneonta on the 24th. As for Sidney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-43 win against Greene on the 23rd.
