Softball Recap: Vallejo Comes Up Short

The Vallejo Redhawks didn't have quite enough to beat the Hercules Titans on Friday and fell 19-17. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (14), the Redhawks still had to take the loss.

Vallejo has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season. The win (which was Hercules' third in a row) raised their record to 5-2-1.

Vallejo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Emery at 4:00 p.m. on April 18. As for Hercules, they will face off against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kennedy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.2 runs per game on average), something Hercules will no doubt try to take advantage of.
