Football Recap: Brearley Bears vs. Metuchen Bulldogs
Brearley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Metuchen Bulldogs. The shutout was out of character for the Bears seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.
Jason Woods went supernova for Metuchen, rushing for 67 yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Hayes-Durina got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Brearley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Metuchen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Brearley will be playing in front of their home fans against Dayton on Friday. As for Metuchen, they will venture away from home to take on North Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Metuchen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.1 points per game this season.
