Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Rainier vs. Auburn

The Mt. Rainier Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Auburn Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Rainier's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mt. Rainier is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Kentridge on Friday. Mt. Rainier and Kentridge finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Kennedy Catholic.

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. With that draw, Mt. Rainier's record moves to 2-1-1.

Mt. Rainier couldn't quite get it done against Auburn in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Mt. Rainier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
