Baseball Recap: Treasure Coast Victorious

Treasure Coast barely beat Suncoast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans never let the Chargers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Treasure Coast got a great performance from Randi Fisher as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Fisher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josh Kummell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Treasure Coast's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Yariel Rodriquez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The victory got Treasure Coast back to even at 8-8. As for Suncoast, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-8 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Treasure Coast will challenge Royal Palm Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Suncoast, they will face off against Okeechobee at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Brahmans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
