Football Recap: Conrad Weiser Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Conrad Weiser after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Garden Spot who ended up claiming the real prize. The Scouts took a 17-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. It was the first time this season that the Scouts let down their fans at home.

Connor Sellars threw for 99 yards on 13 of 22 attempts. Javien Rivera was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Gabe Martin, who rushed for 131 yards and one TD while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 110 yards and one touchdown for Garden Spot. Martin showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 56 yards.

Conrad Weiser's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Garden Spot, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Conrad Weiser will venture away from home to face off against Warwick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garden Spot, they will head out to take on Bristol at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
