Softball Recap: Dirigo Find Success

Dirigo posted their closest win since June 14, 2025 on Thursday. They skirted past the Mountain Valley Falcons 5-4. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Lana Waite made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Waite wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nikole Turnbull, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Dirigo's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Mountain Valley, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.

As of now, neither Dirigo nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
